“well i found the link to your site on drummerworld.com and it was what i was looking for at first glance. i had been playing drums for years but was a guitarist predominantly for many years so most of what i was doing on the kit was at band practices during downtime and in my room to cds i like.. i started pursuing drums more seriously a couple of years ago, and tried taking lessons locally because i wanted to play with more control and intention. i felt like if i was just going for it, sometimes, actually most times, i would overplay, so i wanted to have enough control to be able to go crazy when i needed to, but most of the time play something that i could hear in my head first and that sounded good with the song without having to feel like i was just going for it…
what sucked is that they guy giving lessons basically told me going for it was ok that he does it all the time… not what i wanted to hear, basically i had two lessons with him and i quit..
your lessons are great.. already, they have taken things that i am familiar with. like the 16th note grid, and made me look at it in more ways than i previously thought. not to mention that it does exactly what i wanted out of lessons, teaches me to be in control of what i am doing, and to have a foundation to build the tools i want to have so if i hear something in my head i can get it to my hands and compliment the song, and not just go flailing about trying to put something there…. great job, and thanks for the interest in feedback…. i look forward to more lessons
the downfall of taking lessons online is that they could be a little less personal than with a physical instructor, i think you’re doing a great job of eliminating that problem though with how you are running your program.. i know I’m just one person, but it goes a long way for your customer when you’re doing that, so more kudos to you man!”
